Security alarm system

The most well-known security system is the security alarm system. Nowadays, almost no building without alarm can be imagined, it allows to protect and control the building or territory from unexpected "guests". Security alarms vary in design, function and capabilities.

Security alarms can be wired, wireless, and combined, depending on whether the signal from the detectors is being wired or wireless. Alarm panels can be divided into technical parameters - the number of detectors to be connected or the number of detector groups (areas) that can be controlled separately, etc. Larger structures are often equipped with integrated systems, combining the functions of several security systems or several different security systems. This makes it easier to manage and administer unified systems. The main element of the security alarm is the detector, which, based on the specifics of its construction, analyzes the surrounding space and sends programmed signals to the panel according to programmed criteria.

  • Detector classification by function:
  • Passive infrared motion detectors;
  • Ultrasonic motion detectors;
  • Microwave motion detectors;
  • Photoelectric perimeter barriers;
  • Microwave perimeter barriers;
  • Radar Type Perimeter Detector;
  • Glass break detectors;
  • Smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detectors;
  • Vibration or inertia sensors;
  • Passive magnetic field detection sensors;
  • Electric field sensors;
  • Optical cable vibration perimeter security systems.

Proper detector selection and professional installation ensure long and correct system operation. Incorrect selection or incorrect connection of detectors often leads to malfunctions and false actuation of the security system.

The convenience of using the system is very important. For system control the user has to identify them, previously realized only by entering the code on a dedicated keyboard, nowadays control from a mobile phone or tablet is becoming increasingly popular. This allows you to control the alarm condition and control what is happening at any time.

Fortell Ltd. offers to design, customize and install from a small security system for a private home, apartment or office to a sophisticated integrated system used for warehouse, manufacturing or multifunctional building security.

Fire detection alarm system

The necessity and choice of fire alarm systems is determined by the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia and user operation requirements. The main purpose of fire alarms is to identify the source of a potential fire, to inform about the danger of the situation and to prevent the spread of fire as far as technically feasible. Fire alarms are divided into conventional systems and address systems.

The choice of system is determined by many factors and is therefore usually entrusted to certified professionals.

Fire alarms consist primarily of a control panel, various types of detectors, control modules and alarm elements, which can be either siren or full automatic alarm systems.

The most commonly used fire detectors are:

  • Smoke detectors
  • Heat detectors
  • Gas detectors
  • Flame detectors

By design, detectors can range from small devices we are used to seeing on the ceiling to entire systems under specific environmental conditions.

Fire alarms are often linked to fire extinguishing systems, such as:

  • Gas extinguishing systems
  • Hydrant pump and shutter control systems
  • Sprinkler extinguishing systems

These systems assist or perform fire fighting either automatically or under operator control. All elements of the fire alarm system shall be certified according to EN54, the location and mounting of the elements shall be determined by the relevant regulatory enactments.

Alarm notification system

Automatic alert systems are used in accordance with the requirements of the regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia, usually they are large objects with a large number of people. The automatic alarm system sends messages in multiple languages and also helps to guide evacuation of people by providing additional information.

The control components, amplifiers and loudspeakers are the main components of the alarm system. Outside the alarm mode, these systems are commonly used for background music and informational messages.

Fortell Ltd. offers to design, build, repair or perform technical expertise and servicing of existing automatic fire detection or alarm systems in accordance with the requirements of the laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia and at the customer's request.

During operation, the requirements of regulatory enactments of the Republic of Latvia require regular inspection and maintenance of the aforementioned systems, which are recorded accordingly in system inspection logs.
